According to popular beliefs, Maslenitsa is the most cheerful folk holiday, each day of the week has its own own name. Of course, at present, few people adhere to all rituals and customs, since Maslenitsa week is a working week. However, everyone should know their traditions.

As a rule, Maslenitsa is not only about pancakes at home, at a party or in a restaurant, but also about festivities on the street! On this holiday, the duty of every person is expressed by helping nature in awakening from sleep and saying goodbye to winter. This is precisely what all the customs of Maslenitsa are aimed at.

The celebration took place as follows: young men gathered in small groups to go around the village and collect bast shoes, after which they greeted those returning with purchases from the market or city with the question: “Are you bringing Maslenitsa?” ? For the answer: “No luck,” people received decent kicks with their bast shoes. Before Maslenitsa on Sunday, according to the tradition of those times, it was mandatory to visit relatives, neighbors and friends, as well as invite them to visit.
