In the era of digital advertising, many people think thatprinted bookletis becoming a thing of the past. However, it is not. It can be an effective tool in a marketing campaign due to its attractive appearance and relatively low price. However, an important condition is high-quality design. The booklet should look beautiful, convey high-quality content, and reflect the brand philosophy. One of the important things that needs to be thought through at the design stage is the type of folding (number of folds). It affects both overall aesthetics and readability. One and two folds are the most popular options. Let's look at the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Two folds, triple booklet

Double folding is ideal for:

  • Easy reading;
  • Presentation of visual content such as infographics;
  • Mail mailings
  • < /ul>

    Basically we are talking about a sheet folded in three. This booklet is convenient primarily due to its compactness. It fits perfectly in a pocket and envelope. It is also very convenient to group information here: each section can be read separately in the order it was opened. In this case, it is worth placing the most important information in the center, say, the success story of your company or corporate philosophy.

    Triple folding in combination with non-standard die-cutting is a great way to be remembered by the audience

    Another advantage is that it is very widespread type of brochure: everyone knows how to open it, so there will be no “surprises” from misreading if it is opened incorrectly. However, this is an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time - due to the “standard” nature, it is difficult to arouse the interest of the audience.

    The double fold makes the booklet more dense to the touch, which will distinguish it from other handouts that your client receives, so you can save money on paper density. However, when planning double-fold booklet design, you need to pay special attention to the cover. It should attract and make you want to open and read everything else. Otherwise, the product will not fulfill its function and money on printing will be wasted.

    A triple brochure is not suitable when the basis of the content is graphics and images, say, if we are talking about advertising a premium car class or new buildings. Folds can “cut” and ruin them. If you place illustrations strictly on one part, they will be too small.

    One fold, double booklet

    This type of fold is ideal for:

    • simple business presentations;
    • product information or comparisons;
    • products with large illustrations

    Here we are talking about a page folded in half. A fold separates the content into two parts. The main advantage of such a booklet is the ability to place large images. Even if it is one image, a fold in the center will not spoil it.

    The larger format of the product allows you to quickly capture the attention of the audience. You can come up with a very creative design. Also, the area provides more “air” in order to highlight the most important thing.

    At the same time, double booklet is not always convenient. Due to its size, it may not fit into envelopes or promotional bins in hotels and business centers.

    One fold is an excellent solution for visual content

    For double booklet, especially when it comes to advertising premium products, it is better to give preference to thick paper (170 g/m2) or more. A good option would be designer paper with a beautiful relief or texture. In this case, the product will stand out both in size and appearance. An additional “feature” can be a non-standard finishing - die-cutting or varnishing.

    So, the choice of folding type depends on the content, target audience and how the booklet will be distributed. However, the final success depends on the design, paper type and printing execution. All these factors need to be taken into account in advance and choose a reliable contractor who will help create a quality product.
