On June 5, the charity campaign “Trace of the Predator” starts, aimed at preserving wolves in Ukraine.
Campaign
for the protection of wolves in Ukraine was initiated by the Kyiv Ecological-Cultural
center and has been implemented since 2006. Today to this initiative
Kiev Zoological Park and Wolf Group of Companies joined. Currently, the official number of wolves in Ukraine is
2600 heads, while in fact, according to experts, there are 2 of them
times less, and the number continues to decline.
Wolf is illegal in Ukraine. In
violation of the Berne Convention, the wolf in Ukraine is destroyed by everyone
possible ways, at any time of the year, not sparing the little wolf cubs and
pregnant wolves. For killing a wolf, a bonus of 100 UAH is given. The habitats and migrations of wolves are not protected in any way; there is not a single specialized reserve for the protection of wolves.
At the same time, the wolf is included in the IUCN Red List, the European Red List; as a Red Book species is protected in Poland.
Wolf,
beautiful and intelligent animal, plays a huge role in environmental
processes, is a “forest orderly” and a symbol of the wild nature of Ukraine. It is necessary to stop the destruction of these animals before it is too late! And each of us can do this.
Contribute to the implementation of the campaign for the protection of wolves in Ukraine it is very simple. It is enough to purchase an image of a wolf's paw print at the box office and on the territory of the Kyiv Zoo until the end of summer. Funds raised during the event will be used to implement a campaign for the protection of wolves in Ukraine.
B
the duration of the “Predatory Trail” campaign can be monitored by
the amount of funds collected, as well as their use for the implementation
specific events on the official websites of the organizers.
