Booklet making line based on Horizon SPF-200L

Horizon SPF-200L is a heavy-duty wire-stitching/folding module for working in-line with Horizon VAC series sheet-gathering stations with special equipment for feed trays, which allows you to select formats intended for the production of brochures with a landscape orientation of the spine.

The booklet maker is equipped large (10.4") color touch display with Touch&Work user graphic interface. The interface is as user-friendly as possible and contains easy-to-read icons and digital forms to minimize effort when setting up the machine for the current run. The SPF-200L also features high productivity, reaching 4,500 A5 books per hour. The automatic changeover process includes setting up all functional mechanisms in the shortest possible time thanks to the use of high-precision, high-speed servo drives.

The module is equipped with a tray for manually feeding thick covers or additional sheets. With this device, the Horizon SPF-200L can be used as a stand-alone booklet maker. The machine also has a built-in system for discharging substandard products into a special tray. A wire presence sensor installed after the sewing module allows you to exclude booklets with sewing defects from the technological flow.

Horizon SPF-200L is easy to operate and configure for specific runs. Special sensors inform the operator about jammed or missing sheets, an empty wire spool and any other problems. Using the touch control display or from the central console of the sheet-gathering tower, you can set the sewing mode with one or two heads in a wheelbarrow, cape or corner, sewing without folding, folding together with sewing or simply folding without sewing, etc. The machine uses standard Hohner heads.

The knife folding and block crimping unit is equipped with steel shafts that have special grooves for operation in file staple sewing mode. The distance between the shafts and the required height of the knife device are set by the operator depending on the quality of the paper and the number of sheets in the block. In addition, the working edge of the folding knife has technological cutouts for precise formation of the spine of the publication.

To form a complete technological chain for the production of brochures, the booklet maker Horizon SPF-200L is equipped with an automatic end trimming module FC-200L.
