Premium papers - types and advantages

Premium papers - types and advantages

21.08.2018

Printed products come in two types. Some products look exactly like ones you've already seen. There is no desire to read them or even pick them up. Others stand out, attract attention and are remembered. This is especially important for products that are intended to advertise expensive types of goods such as jewelry, cars or real estate. The key to producing bright printing is the use of premium types of paper in combination with modern printing technologies.

Today, paper is not just made from wood. Plastic, fabrics, and synthetic fibers are added to it, which give the surface certain properties. Already at the design stage, you should think not only about how your business card or brochure will look - you need to take care of the overall impression it makes on the audience. What is worth paying attention to?

Wherer than white

White paper is most often used for printed products. However, white has many shades. And photo albums or advertising catalogs with a large number of photographs will look much more advantageous on ultra-white paper with a high degree of whiteness and gloss. The products in these catalogs will seem more expensive (after all, the company did not skimp on quality paper).

Colors and shades

However, white is not the only option when it comes to expensive types of paper. Cream shades are an excellent solution for vintage-style products or those with a lot of text. It will be much more enjoyable to read. You can also get a rather eye-catching product if you use brightly colored paper. At the same time, this is a good way to save on printing costs - you can order black and white.

As already mentioned, photo catalogs will look great on very glossy paper. The shiny surface of the paper attracts attention and increases the contrast of images. However, here the choice comes down not only to the degree of gloss. You can shine in completely different ways. For example, Majestic candlelight cream paper has a pearlescent surface that seems to glow. An excellent choice for memorable business cards.

Texture

Papers with a certain texture allow you to attract not only visual, but also tactile sensations. Thus, the chances of impressing a potential client increase significantly. At the same time, there are a huge variety of textures on the market. These can be either very smooth, “silky” papers like Splendorgel avorio, or papers with a certain texture. For example, the surface of Dali bianco conveys the structure of corduroy fabric. Linen Icelite paper, white with a pleasant blue tint, resembles linen fabric. “Embossed” papers are perfect for products that require density - business cards, cards, calendars.

Environmentally friendly

Being eco-friendly is a necessity for any self-respecting brand today. One way to highlight corporate responsibility is to use green paper in promotional materials. However, such paper is not green, but brownish. Sometimes craft grades are chosen for printing (really more environmentally friendly in production), and sometimes designer paper, whose color and texture evokes associations with nature. An excellent example is Flora avorio, which contains 50% recycled paper, 40% pure pulp and 10% cotton. The beige color and flecks of fluff demonstrate naturalness and look great.

So, choosing paper is an important step in creating premium printed products that are designed to hold the attention of the audience and stand out among similar products. However, it is worth considering that not all varieties will be compatible with the types of printing you choose. Therefore, before making a final decision, you should consult with the manager or designer of the printing house carrying out your order.
